Sandy was born in Lyons and raised in Sodus Point. Well known in the community and
worked at Sodus Central School. Ms. Lebbert, always listened to students who graced
her presence in ISS or the Guidance Office or who she had to go find while doing
Attendance. You could find Sandy or as she was known as "Sandyman", at Connelly's
Cove from Easter to Halloween on the other side of the Bay at her home away from
home. She would have you pull up a seat at her bar, would listen to your problems, tell
her stories and bring you great food. Sandy continued to work even in her retirement at
Grimes in Fort Pierce, Florida, where for years she kept everyone's schedule running
and the supplies they need on the job as the Install Coordinator and Office Manager.
Sandy poured her heart into every job she had, and never hesitated to give her time,
strength or love to the people she worked with. Sandy made friends everywhere she
went and brightened up a room just by walking into it. Sandy was an excellent cook, she
believed to nourish your soul was through your stomach. Fall in upstate New York was
her favorite time of the year, followed by Christmas. Sandy was the happiest decorating,
cooking and baking to make the holidays special for anyone who could come to her
table. Sandy's depth of caring for those who needed her was unmatched. She always
had time to provide words of encouragement, sound advice, or a much-needed laugh.
Sandy loved and cared for so many friends that became her family along the way.
Sandy was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, and Gamma. Sandy may no
longer be with us in person, but her light will continue to shine in all of us who were
blessed to know and love her.
Private family services will be held at a later time.
